If I remember right, 9 volts won't work because they actually put out 7. something.

Wel u cant buy 9.6 Volt rechargable batteries by kingman made specifically as spares. U'll find them online at paintball online or any other gd internet paintball store. Their only lik $12 too

From looking at battery specs, (Geez, I feel like a nerd) the Kingman/Java 9.6 rechargable battery is a 170 mAh NiHM battery....
so... I would think that a matching battery, such as these would work. If someone has tried another 170 mAh (or higher) battery and it just doesn't cut it, let me know. From looking a lot of regular 9V batteries only run on 120 -150 mAh. The mAH stands for Milliamp Hours. This is how long the battery can run at a certain voltage. The higher the mAH the longer the battery will last. I just ordered a 230mAH 9.6volt and I will let you know how it works out. The charge time will be longer, probably 11 hours instead of 8.
