Question Velocity Adjustment

I just got a used Spyder Xtra. Took it apart to clean and oil it, as well as to do Otter's recommended venturi removal, and have a few questions about velocity adjustment.

1) Is there any way to roughly set the velocity without a chronograph? I guess what I'm looking for is some sort of offhand setting, like "halfway between the highest and lowest settings" that will get me in the 285 fps ballpark.
2) When you disassemble and reassemble the marker, does that throw off the velocity adjustment (does it have to be readjusted)?

Thanks in advance

Default Re: Velocity Adjustment

just adjust the velocity and shoot it. if the path is warped then it is shooting too high and if it falls short then it is too low.

disassembling and reassembling the marker can throw off the velocity but probabliy not by much.
