Shortening a barrel?

Basicly has any one ever done this to a barrel? how can you do it? (any links?) i am going to do this to my spyder pilots stock barrel. im doing this basicly for looks. Im planning on shortening it to 6 inches. also what is a good paint to paint the barrel over and make it a differnt color, again this is just for looks im still gonna play with my j and j.

use a saw if your not playing with it and then smooththe edge with something I dun know pm chubbs hes a machinist I think

pipe cutter or hacksaw. smooth out the inside after the cut and it will be fine

also what is a good paint to repaint my barrel over?

Annodized. If you aren't careful you might end up with a barrel tip that's rough inside and can impart a spin on the ball as it leaves.

I'd have to guess sand and polish to a mirror finish; but only at the very edge where you made your cut. You'll never match the original finish. I'd leave it be if it were me, or just buy a shorter barrel.
