Alrighty I got my critical frame on everything look's great it's a gorgeous marker but I air it up and I have a leak. Checked the hoseline fitting's they are fine. I can hear the leak down the barrel and also if I put my ear up to the feedneck then press down on the bolt pin it goes away almost!
I think I just need to lube everything really! That's the next question. What kind of lube should I use on this gun? I've only had it at the field once and then let it sit till I got the fund's to 2k5 it but I guess I never thought about lube. So what should I pick up for it? Thanks for the help! JB. |

Manual. I'd use SlickHoney personally...And it's really easy to make yourself. I'll PM you the recipe I have if you wish...

dow33 (shocker lube), dow55 or slik honey
I'd check your orings on the ram. If it still leaks it would be good to take it apart and lube the poppet and check those orings.

Check the poppet orings. Lube them or replace them. If it still leaks check those Ram orings and do the same. When I had my project timmy all together it did the same and it drove me nuts. I ended up breaking it down to the basics no frame and just the Timmy and all its airfittings to find the source of the leak and it ended up being 2 leaks. The front barb fitting on the LPR housing and also the back oring on the ram. Fiddleing with it is the key.

My poppet o-ring was horrible, but never caused a leak. It caused drop off. I'd lube the ram o-rings, then replace them if necessary. Its alot easier to check the ram o-rings than the poppet, so do that first.
USE DOW55. NOTHING ELSE. dow55 is an o-ring swellent and seals better than dow33 or slick honey. Bob Long himself says to use dow55 on the o-rings, and tri-flow on the bolt. I used it and had no problems at all. If you can't get dow55, get dow33 and gold cup, and mix a little gold cup with the dow33, to help swell the o-rings. |
