This is not true, some electronic are agitators and some force fed. Force feeding is when the ball is actually pushed down the feed tube(for lack of a better term). This keeps the balls from a popcorninig effect which causes chops.

Agitators like my old Richochet just move the balls around so they fall down the tube easier. They are in no way, helped down. This sometimes causes misfeeds or if you have blow back, allows the balls to come back into your hopper.
