Default eggy with z board

I bought a used egg with z board and i noticed that plastic plate on the inside of the hopper is missing compared to my other y board'd egg. Do i really need this for proper feeding or should i not worry about it or should i remove it from my other egg?

Pull it out of your other eggy......
You will leave alot of balls hanging and it will not feed as fast when it is low...
