yeah, we got beat at the Alamo, but we came back at San Jacinto and wrecked shop...Santa Ana (it is said by local legend) was in his tent, either taking a nap (the clean version they tell to school kids), or "entertaining a lady friend" (thats the clean version for this forum lol) and the US didnt get all that afterwards...texas was actually its own country for a few years before joining the union...another interesting fact is Texas is the only state in the Union to be its own country before joining the union... i'll get off my texas history soapbox lol

nonono, stay on it :P the battle of san jacinto lasted 8 minutes and we had only one casualty. just thought id throw that in there
i expect lots of texas history in this report, ok paradox? :P im not really sure what your teacher wants, since the spanish really didnt have all that much to do with the formation of america. i know we got florida from them. the rest of the south, minus texas and lousiana, we got from mexico, after the mexicans revolted...
