Adopted a dog!

Finally we get a dog! I'm tired of having cats and reptiles.. Since those are long gone, my family decided to go to the shelter and pick up a nice pup. So we got a labrador retriever. I already love this guy and I cant wait for the paper work to clear. Is it ok to rename dogs after getting them from the shelter? It wouldnt like confuse the dog would it? His name is Pierce, and im kinda eh about that name. What would you guys name him?

i think it is the way you say the dogs name, like you are directing your voice towards them that captures their attention. i can call my dog whatever i want as long as i look at him in the eye and speak to him.

not sure on a name though. thats your choice

You would have to call him Peirce * for a while so he would know what his new name was. After a while, when he only responds to the * part of the name, drop the Peirce and only call him the * name.

I'm always bad at choosing names for animals. I named our previous cat Mr. Kitty.. that tells you something lol. Just want some suggestions on the common names labs are givin.

my golden retriever/black lab/hound is named Bob. so dont ask me for a name lol

My dog's name is Otis. We got him from a shelter too, and we got lazy and just let him keep his name.

I would have named him Blackie, Sparky, or Mr. Fungus but thats just me.

Ahh name him something no one else would, like Eurofrat, or le lave something odd..... But it is you decision so dont take my word for it.
