Default Charging 9.6 volt battery

When I have the Java 9.6 volt rechargable battery in my Imagine charging, do I turn on the marker or leave it off? ...

Correct. The lights should remain off. Charge it overnight and partially into tomorrow to get a full charge (14 hours).
