Video Editing Software

I got a nice Sony Handycam DVD Camera for Christmas. Im looking for some good preferably cheap software for editing the videos that I shoot. I just want the basic stuff. Any help?

Windows Movie Maker. It's free on download.com, and pretty simple to understand and use. I just got it and it seems ok to me!

I'd try movie maker first before you buy one as to see its limitations. And seeing how Premire Pro is 700 i dont think he will spring for it.

Ummm.... Vegas Video I know too expensive, but it is the best video editing application out there. Any pro studios that are not using Mac's use it.

But Windows Movie Maker does a great job for inexpensive (free) movies.

OK Like i said in my post above. I DONT WANT EXPENSIVE. Im not a professional all i was looking for is basic stuff to make my movies look decent. Ill look into the Windows Movie Maker though. Thank You.
