I think if you click the ? next to your name, you can change the color of your name.

I've found the chat to be very glitchy. 3 of us were in there and person 2, couldn't see me talking, person 3 couldn't see person 2 talking and it got super confusing. We reentered and it works now, but its glitched a few times I've been there.
