If its coming from above the safety button then it might be a couple things the oiling everything might not fix. It could be a cup seal or the orings on the valve itself.

Inspect the orings, if they look okay lube and put the valve back in.

Check the cup seal, see if there is any damage to that. If it looks okay put it back in and put it back together. Air it up. No leaks then you are good.

If it still leaks try replacing the orings on the valve, lube the oring, put the valve back in, put the gun back together. Air it up.

Still leak?

Replace the cup seal. Air it up. Still leaking after that let us know.

Even before taking you gun apart check the o-ring on the tank itself. Those tend to break every now and then (especially when you're taking the tank off with full pressure).

The result of a either a bad imperfection or break in the tank seal will also result in continous hissing. Sometimes it's easier to take the tank off while depressing the trigger to reduce the pressure (not paintball should be in your gun when doing this).

Why would a bad tank oring sound like it was coming out of the saftey button hole? Usually when I have a bad tank oring it comes from my asa.

Just go with shunut's plan.

Ususally when it leaks by the safety, it means it's by the valve. It could be an o-ring, or the cupseal probably isn't sitting right. Maybe you could even put a few drops of paintball oil down the ASA and shoot a few dozen times, or cock it before putting air in. Then if it doesn't work then go with plan B.

Just note if it doesn't work just fully clean/dissasemble the whole gun, then replace, lube all o-rings and you should be fine.

Remember, a little maintainance goes a long way ...

You are 100% correct that the hissing from a bad tank o-ring would come from the asa. All I'm saying is 1) someone may hear hissing in general and mistake it from somewhere else (as my local shop can attest) and 2) simply check that first before going into the internals. If the o-ring is fine move on to the next item...
