July 18, 2006

SOFTEARMODS.COM UNVEILS NEW WEBSITE, NEW PRODUCTS!

I've just finished our completely redesigned version two website. Hopefully you guys will like it. Some new products have been added to our site (barrel condoms, E-Vent soft ears), and there is more coming soon. All new products are available in our online store. We will be adding more products and updating our website the rest of this Summer, I'll be sure to keep the Kingman forum updated.

Nothing against you Phil, but you may want to mention that these are not tournament legal. But anyways, nice site, I may end up picking up a pair off of you, you never know.

Just wondering, why are they not tournament legal? No holes?

In answer to the question, I think it's because a lot of tournaments these days (mainly the higher level regional, PSP and NPPL tournaments) won't let you use altered masks, you have to use the mask the way it came from the factory.

Looks good, phil!

Makes sense... Thus all the new frames and parts so the masks can be customized, but still keep factory parts.

phil the T shape on the white ear doesnt help much if one end of the T isnt open...

edit: btw i do know thats how vents has the holes cut originally but that isnt neccesary

The reason they are not tournament legal is because I cannot afford the testing to meet ASTM standards. A big company like JT on the other hand can. This really shouldn't be much of a discourager though, because altering JT's soft ears in any way (cutting for example) is deemed illegal because of the mask modification rule also. If you ever watch PSP or NPPL videos, you'll notice how many players and pros use masks with cut soft ears. It's yet to be strictly enforced by either league.

Claus: I made that cut in the T-Shape, just like Vents does, because I do not have an E-Vents in my hands to test with. I've done all testing (for E-Vent soft ears) shipping E-Vent soft ears back and forth to a buddy on AO. He also suggested the 1/4" additional foam around the attachment hole.
