Is mystpace just good for the hookups?

I was watching this station this evening (G4 - they play the OLD original Star Trek shows!!!) and there was a big debate on whether myspace was just a place to get hook ups, or if it was a place to meet people and have a good time.

Now, I don't have a myspace, not sure why, other than I spend to much time in pb forums as it is. My question then, is myspace a good thing or bad thing?

Discuss for a lengthy amount of time.....

i dont really use myspace to meet people, but to stay in touch with people i already know.

Never understood Myspace... If it is to keep up with people, why cant you use IM or E-mail... Is it to show yourself off? or it must be too meet people. Please explain to the old timers

for me, its to keep tabs on people who you wouldnt see otherwise

i am friends with alot of people in school, but i never hang out with them over the summer, and myspace relationships=no go, fds

I'm with Chris on this one. The only reason I have a MySpace is because it's free (big one there, lol) and I have friends that go onto MySpace to upload pictures, and to get to those pictures, I need an account.

I'm divided on voting on the first or last option... LOL!

umm, i pick option #5: None of the Above. i use Myspace to keep in touch with people (especially since almost all my friends are in the military) and thats about it. and its easier when you need to tell someone something and dont have their phone number or email or cant talk to them in person

MySpace is great for all those predators to meet underage children. they can exchange pics, arrange travel for the children, and take them to places they don't want to go.

Other than that it is a great way to network, find old friends, keep in touch with friends, find new music, funny vids, and kill sometime.

Option #5 is the best statement about MySpace in here. If you are going to do on-line dating go to an actual dating website and find someone. MySpace is not for dating.
