what is your suggestion for a photo/image program?
what i am trying to do is enlarge a pic that is roughly 2x3 or 3x4 to something like an image a little smaller than 10x11. the program i have can do it. but makes the image fuzzy or blocky. what would you suggest?

Reason it's fuzzy is because when you are enlarging it, you are merely enlarging the pixels that it was taken in in the first place. Smaller pixels enlarged = larger squares = fuzzy pics -

I use Irfanview, with all the add-ins. www.irfanview.com It's freeware.
The degree of pixelization that you get when enlarging will depend on the image quality. Here's an example of what Irfanview can do. I just resized my avatar image from 64x64 to 640x640. It did a pretty good job: Last edited by meruhl : 07-10-2006 at 05:49 AM. |

When you reduce you actually make the image clearer lol. He's talking about enlarging -

Yes but it is still pixelated and that is what Otter is trying to avoid.
Otter there is not much you can do to blow up a picture without some distortion. You could try to use Photoshop to blow it up and clean it a little. But it will not be super clear. HacKeR

i believe tha Bamf has the idea what i am asking. is there a program that can enlarge a pic with least amount of distortion?
i am aware of enlarging a pic and the pixels enlarge as well. wanting to minimize that, if not avoid that. here is a for instance. maybe i will go this route. i have a 250x325 pix pic that i can get Windows XP to use as a wallpaper. i use a 1200x?? screen. it enlarges the pic with very little distortion at all. i do not mind touching the pic up. but the least amount of touching up, the better.
