Like Dragon said though, if it's Wal-Mart paint, it's already pretty old. Definitely check the paint before you buy it. I personally had no problems opening the boxes right there in the aisle and checking the bags. But, if it's the only place you have to get paint, then stock up! Or, I guess you can get it off the internet pretty cheap.

IF you turn them every week or so, keep them in a controlled atmosphere, where it doesn't get too hot or cold or moist - they'll keep several months. Remember though, Wal-Mart doesn't do this!
I've had paint for about 7 months before (over the winter) that was almost as good as when I bought it. If it's not crappy paint as hard as marbles to begin with, you shouldn't have any problems.
