hey guys, the scavenger hunt was kind of cool but i think it really burned out fast, so i thought up a few revision ideas i thought i might get looked at by you guys to determine whether you thought they would help for flow and entertainment:
downfall imo was because of: members not active some tasks cheated (alot, ill admit i may have started it) was based on how fast not how good poor judge consistancy (sorry red, but you were all over the place, i mean you let spydr slide with the 60 second breath and tibs with the gummy worm when the intent of the task was obvious but alot of others were shut down (my car!!!)) my revision suggestion: instead of a task list off the bat, one is presented with "active dates" the task list will be ordered by date that they will be active the tasks will be active each for 3 days two tasks will be active at one time, one will be hard and specific, similar to the tasks in the current contest, the other will be extremely broad, and will have a task but will not tell you anything about how it is to be done the hard task will be judged on how well it adhears to the written task and will be able to be taken with ONLY a camera the easy task will require a video and will be judged on creativity the points will be given to the team with the funniest/ most adhearing to the guidelines task at the end of the 3 day period and will be left to the judges to decide (since its based on what judges think is funny more than what judges think is legit, its less likely for "bad" calls, again no offense meant) example: tasks open from monday 12:00am -wed 11:59pm your timezone task (1point): go down a hill task (3point) dress like santa and get people to tell you what they want for christmas (pic with kid asking for stuff) /example task the first task you may decide to just walk down, but you probibly wont get the points... a judge would probibly give points to the guy who goes down the hill into a pond in a radio flier. the second task is pretty cut out, do as good as you can and the person with the best attempt gets the points (unless they miss part in which case they get less ie: no kid, minus 1 point) also teams would be smaller, to provide more competition teams of 3 with names by the members as many as we need let me know what you think any other suggestions would be great |

I think that the downfall was that not everyone gets on the forums as much as others therefore had no chance in this contest. That, and once the task was done by someone, that task was no longer available. There was a whole team not active for the weekend because they weren't on so they couldn't participate, and by that the time they started, a lot of the tasks they could possibly readily do were completed.
Why not break the list into 3 or 4 shorter lists, set a date for a particular list to be completed, and all teams must complete the entire list within that time period? After that, the teams move to another list. The team with the most points at the end of the time period wins.

well this leaves a particular task open for 3 days so everyone knows WHAT to go after and it isnt first come first serve so it is good... vote please.

my only complaint is that it makes the judges job harder. I have better things to do with my time then sit and monitor one thread. So no offence but if this goes through I resign I just dont have the time.

OK I have to admit the current hunt is getting either hard to follow or boring.
I like the idea for a new contest, using Vike's idea sort of. We can set up teams, as many as we need of 3 or 4 people, with one captain per team. There will be a total of 4 or 5 lists to complete, but the catch is each team will only get one list at a time. Once the complete list is done and approved by the judges then that team will get the next list. Instead of posting the individual tasks completed on the board a single PM can be sent to the judges with all of the tasks completed and then once they are confirmed done the Judge will PM the team captain the next list. The Judge can then update the thread with the completed lists. Each team can get a few *PASSES* so they can forfeit a task and still move on. Lets say 4 total for all the lists. If you use all 4 on the first list then you will have none on the remaining lists, and since you wont know what is on the lists then it is a risk you will have to take. Using this method each team will have to do all the tasks. What do you think? Of course we can refine this. HacKeR

wait sorry for another post...but is this what you all are talking about?
say we have 5 teams, so there will be say 5 lists of 10 activities, and then theres a 3 day period that people can do the activities....after the 3 days the judges get the lists together...and keep the activities completed and all together... and then the lists will be re-distributed to a different team, so if there are 5 teams, then there will be 5 different submitted pics/ ideas or whatever of the task, then the judges get together and judge the ones and give points accordingly....so if u dont do a task or skip it, it only hurts your teams chances of having the points you could get.... claus if u need clarification IM me at jumboshrimp32
