Default My Palmer Stab

Well got a palmer stab a few months ago, I've put a case and half maybe through it, but it still hasn't been broken in all the way, because my shots aren't consistent at all. When I was at the field, I was having huge velocity adjustments... Using both n2 and co2 this is the case. I oiled it by putting some 3 in 1 into the asa and firing it through the gun, When I was swapping out springs to see what I could do to get my pressure down, I noticed there are some brown specks all in the output of the reg, I have no lcue what it could be, anyone have an idea, an or how to get the reg more consistent? I havn't disasambled it yet as I've heard they can be difficult to reassemble.

You might have a bad seal on the top piston.

It is actually easy to take apart. Follow my video found here:

Never ceases to amaze me how some people can spend $100 on a reg and still stick the cheapest arzed oil they can find through it. Brown specks lol......o-ring residue perhaps from the 3-in-1 eating away at the o-ring? If the 3-in-1 turned the o-rings to mush there may be a chance that the internal piston scraped the walls of the body. If so you're SOL my friend. Hopefully I'm wrong. That's a worse case scenario. I'd take it apart and see if there's any internal damage and change the o-ring while you're at it. Only instructional I've seen on the Palmer's so far BUY SOME DAMNED PAINTBALL OR TOOL OIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Ooh, I was told that 3-in1 was fine *cringes* I've been using it on o-rings for my gun since I got it, and no problems there... No "melted" o-rings in fact It's been workin pretty good...

I'll go pick up some PB oil and lube it up/see if your theory is correct, I of course pray it not to be, but perhaps if that were so, the warrantee would be good?

3in1 is a penetrating oil - not a lubricating oil...

Well, I just disassembled my stab, only thing that migt be wrong with it is that there is a small ring about where the bottom part starts to come up, like where it goes from thin near the bottom, to wider about a third the way up fro mthe bottom, not sure if its sposed to be that way. Having just looked at the 3-in1 it IS lubricationg oil, or so it says... Only reason I've been using it is because its what I had in my basement when I went to clean my gun the first time, having been told it was fine I've been using it since with no trouble.

SO is that sort of ring damage to the body of it, or is it supposed to be there..?

Like an indent in the metal of the body.

I reasembled it after cleaning and oiling the rings with the 3 in1, and for some reason, I think liquid co2 like flooded through, I had some pretty weird pressure ajustments, and my entire VA got fogged up, I disasembled it again, and its the same, no visible damage, I've reasembled now And I'm gonna try it out again.

Edit: tried again, same accuracy, I realized its probably only fogging up, because I was rippin to test out the recharge, no problems there, although I could physically see it recharge, and it would if left for a bit get up to 150 psi higher than what its set for...

The way you describe the ringy thingy sounds like wear. I have had my Palmer's for going on 4 years now and the inside looks as new. I take the piston out occasionally and use Dow33 on it along with sporadically runnung PAINTBALL OIL through the ASA to keep it lubed in between. You will see more deterioration of the o-ring using C02 since C02 swells o-rings. From your description of the freezing on the body, sounds like your tank has no anti-siphon......get one if not. Dunno what to tell you. I'd think replacing the piston o-ring couldn't hurt and use some Dow on it before inserting it back in -

3 in 1 is a factory approved lubricant for WGP. Vaseline is as well. I don't see what the problem is.
