Warpedmephisto Angel ACE install and dual detent milling

I posted this up on the Nation and wanted to share it with my KUSA friends.

A few weeks ago I contacted Warpedmephisto as I caught wind that he did ACE milling and installation for a really reasonable price. When I saw some pics of his work on his site - http://www.warpedairsmithing.com/ I wanted to support a fellow moderator brother. After contacting him he acknowledged that he did self ACE installs also as a service. The way it works is you acquire the board and eyes setup (Timmy, DM, Predator, etc.) and he will do all the milling and prep work for you and you do the actual install and setup. I had a pretty good knowledge or setting up eye systems as I have done them in the past on other blind guns (Spyders, Imps, BKO’s). I figured I could do the work on my Angel and since it was my newly acquired baby I wanted it milled professionally instead of me using a Dremel and a drill press.

I sent my gutted body and frame out to him and in a quick turn around it was back at my house and ready for me to put back together. I shipped about a week ago and I received the finished product yesterday. Then again we both live in the same state just 3 to 4 hrs away.

As a lower cost alternative to adding ACE on to an older Angel I see this as a great alternative. As more and more boards are being replaced by faster boards people are letting go their older outdated boards cheaper and cheaper. His work as you can see is top notch and should be a great choice. Once I get it all together again I’ll post up some pics.

So, do you have to have to send the board, eyes and eye covers for him to do this, or does he just do the milling without all that stuff?

Nope all he needed to know was what size eyes I was going to use. Either the 3mm or the 5mm and for a few extra bucks he supplied the Eclipse covers and supplied the screws too.

Cool! The sensei thing is kinda throwing my mind in a tizzy right now, and I think I'd rather have eyes.

Did you notice advantagepb is developing an Angel board?

Which brings me to my next question....can any aftermarket board that will accept eyes work on any Angel? I'm thinking of using this guy to mill my gun for me, but not until I have the stuff for it...

Pretty much anything that can activate the solinoid can work with this upgrade. Many use Intimidator boards for their cost. He provides the switch plate that you can use to mount the new microswitch. I believe the new Angel Advantage boards will be a lot better as they will fully fit in your frame and best thing is the controls will be accessable from the buttons behind the frame in the stock locations.

So I could send in my Spyder body to get is milled for eyes? I want a t-board with eyes, but don't want to hose my marker if I drill it bad.

If it is a Spyder I highly recommend The Trooper. He is a fellow moderator with me on the Kingman section. He has done several of my Spyders and I love his work. I think Warp specializes in Angels. All in all tell both of them that I recommended you to contact them and I'm sure they will give you a pretty good rate.

Does the trooper still do eye milling? I heard awhile back that we stopped.

The Trooper is a member here too. Just tell him that I send you and if he isn't busy will give you a better chance of him reconsidering his retirement.
