Default @#$!@#$ pilot!

I dont think anyone could have worse luck with this marker. When i first got it i had to use a flat screwdriver to pry the cocking knob out of the bolt, now it comes out on its own about every 10 shots! But the big problem today is velocity. I got my hpa tank and decided to try it out. I am back to the factory spring set coz i was having trouble chopping with light valve/heavy main. Took a few shots, nothing over 140fps. changed to medium valve, nothing over 160. I didnt have time to switch to the light again but thats the way it was when i was chopping and double shooting every time.

Paint to barrel match? Brittle paint? Something in the front of the bolt to cause chopping? Something in your air line to stop velocity? Did you check your regulator? Bad detent to cause double feeding?

i think i had the barrel to paint match pretty well (im using a 6 piece empire barrel kit) I dont have a regulator on it yet but i do have one on the way along with V/A and a new designz hp valve (with all the trouble ive had so far im not really looking forward to trying for lp now). I have polished the internals. THere was a little bit of scratches on one side of the valve pin, maybe i should take a closer look at the valve to see if there is some flaw but i guess ill have a new one in a few days anyhow. As far as i know there is nothing blocking airways, it was working fine the other day with my co2 tank and i just pulled it apart again and cleaned and oiled last night.... and the problem wasnt double feed, it was striking twice per pull.

it could be that because CO2 has a greater density than HPA is causing recocking issues. If the marker's regulated, try upping the input pressure 25-50 psi at a time and reduce your velocity adjuster.

edit:what kind of bolt is in it? post a pic?

Turns out i had a small leak in the on/off knob. after about two more hours of opening/closing/testing it finally got loud enough to hear. Of course as soon as i got it working and went to play something else broke. The dust cap broke off.
When i was cleaning it out the other night i noticed the bolt is starting to wear the finish off the inside of the gun. Doesnt look like gouges or anything just shiney strips following the motion of the barrel. Is that normal wear? I clean it out all the time so i know its not dirt or anything, seems like the acs should have some kinda oring.
