Nail Polish

I know alot of people use nail polish to touch up scratches and things, how "well"(those whove actually used it) does it work? I dremelled off the back/top portion of my gun and was planning on using it. I also got careless in a few places and made like a 1" long nick on the top of the gun. Think it would work on anything as large as what I described?

lol, it works wonders. i picked one up for $.59! make sure you use the glossy black though.

Anyone know if I should roughen the larger areas up with sandpaper first?
I'm thinking not since nails are pretty smooth.

if you have ridges sticking out, then try and get those out. if its just a gash, then go ahead and paint over it. its better to put a few layers and let it sit for a while (its pretty fast drying though.)

ya I tried it on the gashes and it didn't seem to work to well. #1 I couldn't get it only in the gash it cover the area around it as well and #2 When I let it sit to dry since nailpolish is pretty thick it was an unlevel lumpy area. I tried to sand it down alittle, but of course that only turned it whitish. Suggestions?

mask off around your scratch, then you can get real precise and it wont matter if its lumpy...just be sure, once you're happy with it, peel the tape off before it dries, else the nail polish will hold the tape down...

hmm, i guess i have 1337 nailpolish skillz! mine only left a little lump... try reducing your number of coats. i think i may only have used 1 or 2 on mine.
