nah, all spyders are pretty much the same internally. in 09 I believe they started to change somewhat (in the bolts anyway)

Also is it worth upgrading this gun to an electronic trigger or would i be better off saving this gun for a backup and getting something else? If i get another gun what would you recomend?

it depends how much you want to spend on a gun. a new e-frame is about $60 or $70 i think. you can get a new electronic spyder for about $150 and they have eyes which is nice.

If your looking to play with a Spyder for a while, I would say get a new one with eyes. If its going to be every so often with some friends, snag a used Eframe.

Also, paint costs go up when you get into electronics - easier to shoot means faster and more paint shot.

Welcome to the forums and welcome to the sport...been thinking of coming back into it after a few years absence myself...

welcome to the forums when i had my 05 xtras i had both e trigger and the rocking style e trigger. Both were nice but like viking said paint cost will go up you will use more. Will say that if your gonna play in tournys even if its for kick and giggles you will want to upgrade. ( def keep the gun if you can afford to its one heck of a dependable gun ).
