i have an ACP terminus bolt and its made of a plastic material with two
o-rings. a guy that works at the paintball field i go to said im not supposed to oil the 0-rings because its a plastic bolt and not metal. is this true because ive been oiling it since i got the bolt.

It is probably made of a low friction material called Delrin. Delrin is not supposed to be oiled because it can swell. If you notice that the o-rings are becoming dry, take them off, oil them separately, and put them back on. This will ensure minimal contact between the oil and the Delrin.

exactly what he said. you can get a small amount on the bolt just dont cover it. When you put a few drops of oil in the ASA and shoot it a few times it should be plenty to oil your system.

Meh, I've never observed delrin expanding with oil. That's just me though.
Not saying I would go to town oiling the bolt, it's a low friction material already and heavy oiling would likely increase friction. Just oil the o-rings or put a few drops of oil in the ASA as slim and smurf said.

eh I wouldn't risk it.. don't want to damage the delrin (probs wouldn't but just in case). Wipe it down with a paper towel and it should be fine.

or run it under water and let it dry good.

Its an Anti-Chop bolt. When a ball isnt completely loading into the breech but the marker is fired, the bolt tip will stop but the back half of the bolt & striker will (should) finish cycling.
Boston Paintball Products made the first one for cockers. Jam Bolt used that design for years. I had a Jam bolt for my TL+ for a long time. Back in 2002/2003 a small time machinist made an ACB for Spyders. He went by BR Machine Co. Shortly after he came out with his & before I found out about it, I had the idea for one. The funny thing is that the Terminus bolt looks a whole lot like my last drawing. I would really love to get ahold of one just to compare it to mine. |

Shocker lube, or whatever they call it now, slick honey - those kinds of lubes are what I used on my delrin bolts - just on the orings, not on the bolt itself. Never saw any swelling on any of my bolts, except the tigershark which didnt have orings and never got oiled. Not sure why that happened.
