Ever since I bought my vs2 two years ago it has blown o-rings (part# org018) almost every time I turn the air from on to off or vice versus. I only use the gun about 3 times per year and I am not turning the knob too far in or out either, only between 2 and 3 turns out from full in. I sent it into Kingman last september and they just lubed it up and sent me a bunch of o-rings - thanks for nothing.
I dont know if there is a burr in there or what, I cant see or feel anything as much as I try. Today I called Kingman and they told me they dont even have the regulator (part # asa001) in stock anymore Can I replace the on/off asa and regulator with something aftermarket for cheap? How about a WGP Outkast regulator ($5!) and a Check-It Uni-Mount II with Micro Rail ASA ($15) at paintball-online, would they work on the VS2?Kingman said I could try a CP regulator, but they are about $80. Great customer service Kingman I will make sure I never buy another Spyder.Last edited by uncleslam : 06-02-2010 at 09:43 PM. |

WOW... From what your saying & a thread on PBN, Kingman's CS is going to ****.
Yes you can take the stock parts off & replace with pretty much what ever you want. I believe you will need an adapter to use a normal vertical regulator. The reg it self, macro or stainless hose to an asa. The unimount, I think has its mount built in. |

the on/off is also the regulator for the gun.
if you want a new on/off, you also need to get a regulator and a regulator adapter. any good reg and on/off should be fine and trinity and cp both make the reg adapter.

I really don't want to put a bunch of money into this gun, especially if the parts are already getting discontinued. Kingman told me I could not even get the part # ASA001 from them. Can you do a search on "WGP Outkast regulator" (only $5) and let me know if that will work with my VS2 after I get an ASA and adapter elsewhere?

Yeah, the outkast reg should be able to output the right pressure. Not sure of co2 friendlyness, might be fine though.

Do you guys think it could just be the the output pressure from my tank that is blowing the oring on the ASA on/off valve?

Nah, does it work if you just leave the on/off in the on position and leave it there all the time? That would be the cheapest option, you lose the luxury of an on off, but it's better than buying new parts...
