The last two dell laptops I've had have had the same keyboard, its super comfy now. Whenever I have to use my laptop it just feels nice. Weird..

My wife has an Inspiron 15. Its not too bad, but I like my Studio XPS so much more. LOVE Windows 7...I actually prefer my laptop keyboard to my regular keyboard now. Hated it at first, but after a few days it was pretty nice.

The only thing I don't like about laptop keyboards in the lack of a number pad. But it seems that the ones that do have them are much too large.

working with a bunch of nerds, one day wet got in a huge argument about chiclet(sp?) keys vs standard raised keys. i cant stand the chiclet ones because of the huge gaps between keys. with the edged ones, its easier to slide my fingers over them, and i dont have to worry about missing keystrokes so much.

edit: yeah, my 17" pavilion has a full num pad. its one of the reasons i got i over a 16"

They keys on mine are raised, but only a little bit. I don't like the membrane pad style, where it is basically smooth with tiny bumps where the keys are.

i prefer full keyboards, just because of how far theyre raised, but im starting to get used to the HP laptop keys, which are the same design but flatter. 'the chiclet design is what macs use, and more and more laptops are going towards that.

My GF's has a number pad on a 15"... but the keyboard is way too cramped for my liking like that. I have a nice Logitech wireless for my desktop that works perfectly. One kind of keyboard that I absolutely can't stand is the split/wave keyboards they make. I like all my keys in a nice, flat line. None of that chiclet ****, either. I like depth to my keys.
