basically i wanted to compare crappy backgrounds/settings to decent ones, so i took pics of my car in front of my house, and then went to the nearest park and took pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Never touch a camera again, Sascha.
![]() I like the 6th one, and definitely don't like the 8th one.

It's just a puddle with your lights on. It doesn't intrigue or inspire me at all.

5th is the best. The less we see of the car, the better the picture is.

3 & 4 are your best shots, 6 somewhat interesting. I like the silhouette effect of 3, and 4 has exceptionally good composition -
When you compose(if you know anything about psychology/composition) you know that the eye goes to the left upper first, lower left second, lower right third, then upper right. We unknowingly like to view photo's or pages in that particular order. If the page or photo leads us in that direction we are pleased. If something disrupts our full circle viewing pattern, it disturbs us subliminally - For instance, in photo 4 we start in the upper left as the bright empty space attracts our eye, we automatically look down to the lower left which the subject matter catches our eye, we skim across the auto(the road gives us a line to follow as well) which leads us to the lower right then the bottom of the tree catches our eye, we follow the tree trunk upwards towards the upper right and as a bonus, the braches are tilted slightly left leading our eyes back to the left upper once again.....perfect! We will skim that circular pattern over and over till we're satisified with our viewing, then move on to the next photo. The car(subject matter) is proportioned well, not too small as in photo 5 or too large/boring as in photo 1 - Same with photo 3. We start at the upper left, on the way down to the lower the auto catches our eye, leads us straight across to the right, the tree attracts us up then back to the left, Full circle - Assessment complements of excerpts in classes of photography, design and industrial psychology - ![]()
