First off the specs on my gun. I have a VS2 with a Brand New CP ASA, Used CP reg, Used trinity front block. I haven't really had much time to use the gun since I installed these new parts and I am having some problems.
The gun will shoot fine for half a hopper and then it will start not recocking all the way, maybe 1/8 inch from being fully cocked. Other times it will leak after a shot for a few seconds and I can feel air coming out from the eye covers. It will leak like this and then slowly stop leaking as if a seal is slowly coming back into place to stop the flow of air. This happened 2 weeks ago and I tore the marker all the way down, even took the valve apart, and lubed every o-ring and metal on metal sliding surface (the striker tube.) I shot a hopper through it after this and the problem stopped. I went out today to play and the same thing started happening. I am running at 250 psi at the reg but I still have the recocking problems. I am thinking that maybe the leaking problem would have to do with not enough lubing in the valve/cup seal. Before I made these "upgrades" the marker was working perfectly. I would hate to go back to stock if I didn't have to. Any ideas? HELP!! |

Try new o rings, For valve bolt and hammer, I had simular problems Still don't know what oring was giving me the problems but that fixed it, For the day. I am now running at 260 and still have recocking problems. I My valve has yet to ever leak air, I'm thinking I might get new valve and bolt springs and see if it helps. I'll post results.

Spring for bolt was looking farly worn, streched it longer at 260 psi I am shooting at 290-295 FPS with stock barrel. No recocking problems only shot 200 rounds.

If I have CP asa and reg would I still need to do this? I remember doing this when I had stock parts on my gun but would I still need to with the aftermarket parts?

This procedure help to oil the reg from the inside. Aftermarket reg are better, but they needs lubrification too. I think you should give it a try.

I was running 250 PSI when this problem originally occured. I don't have easy access to an area to shoot to test things out so the last time I went and played, I shot about 10 rounds and the problem was there instantly. I tried turning up the air since I was having recocking issues but that didn't help. I then turned the air down and tried it again with luck. It was shooting normally. Then the batteries in my hopper decided to stop working so I couldn't test it out at a high ROF but I think it is better for the most part. I will see in a couple weeks when I go out again.
Thanks for everyone's input though. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the problem is fixed. |

I had the problem solved and the gun worked flawlessly for about a day. Now the problem is back. It almost seems like the striker is catching on something. I am going to polish it with a dremel and polishing wheel to see if that makes it slide easier in the tube. If this doesn't work I am out of ideas. I will also try to put some oil in the reg and dry fire it, even though I don't know what that would do with the problem I am having, I am up for anything!
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
