I just got Qwest Fiber Optic last week. We have the option to go all the way up to 20 Mb/s, right now we are at 7.

Muddytaco , if you change to open servers does it affects anything ? does it becomes faster? also does the windows 03 tutorial works with Xp? thanks

My connection is ATT elite which is maxed and 6mbs down and 1 mbs up, so using the openDNS servers pretty much maxes out my connection to what it should be.

DNS servers are in charge of finding the web url and turning it into a IP number the computer can actually follow. ex: www.yahoo.com is 209.131.36.158.....it won't actually effect your service in anyway.

Basically the quicker the DNS can find the page IP number the quicker it can load.

If you want to do it on XP:

Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections -> Right Click Your Connection -> Properties -> Double Click Internet Protocol -> Select Use The Following DNS Server Address -> Preferred: 208.67.222.222 Alternate: 208.67.220.220 -> Click OK -> Your connection may or may not cut off for just a few secs while it changes setting

If its not any faster its easy to change back, however it sped up both my desktops, my laptop, ipod touch and xbox 360. I haven't even had a hint of lag on 360 since it changing it.

I was at the hospital today because my best friend's daughter was having surgery. I got on one of their computers checked their speed 97mb/s download 38mb/s upload. I tried to get on here and post it but it had the site blocked.
