I just bout a bt apex barrel for $30 (ak version) I was wondering it i could take to AK 47 shroud off of the barrel?

ok so I got the barrel and striped it and with the apex tip on its like 20 inches. Im very disappointed, the site claimed it was 14 inches. So now im gonna eventually buy another barrel and put the apex tip on that barrel.
