Talking Dye Rotor/ PM8

Well, I finally got out and fired my new baby...and it was amazing. Now, before I get into this I want to get two things straight.

First, I started playing paintball back in '96 with a Spyder Elite and my friends had the usual Prolites and Brass Eagle garbage. So with that in mind, when I came back to the sport a year ago after an extended hiatus (military), Electros were foreign to me.

Second, this is the only high end marker I've shot thus far. I have a RSX and MR2 w/eye and those are mid range guns at best. I also had a Halo B reloader v35.

To compare my RSX with Halo B v35 is like comparing apples to oranges. Just not fair to do so. The RSX is a great starter gun in my opinion but just lacks the refinement of the PM8. The RSX is loud, heavy and inconsistent/inaccurate compared to the PM8. In regards to efficiency, both guns are new but I believe I would get about a case on a 72/3k with the RSX. As for the PM8, I shot about 1200 and used 2k today.

As for comparing the loaders, the disparity of performance between the two isn't nearly as great. The v35 never failed to provide the bps needed for my RSX (30 bps) but I had issues with the eyes being dirty and basically limiting the loader to a manual feed. With the Rotor being 50 bps I know I wont have bps feed issues but I have to be mindful to make sure the anti-jam lever on the bottom is pushed all the way forward because it will jam everytime if it's not in that position.

All in all, I'm stoked to get on the field with this set up. The RSX is going to be a decent back up gun or a loaner for friends.

nice. i like my rotor, just wish it would hold more paint (and no, im not getting the ugly extended top!)

and i dont think you'd get a case off a pm8. once you get down to ~ 500-1000 psi in the tank, you lose a lot of shots.

and just because i feel i have to, i got half a case out of a 48/3k on my timmy! spool valves just arent as efficient as poppet guns

DF, did you notice your rotor jamming when the anti-jam was pushed all the way forward?

It jams if the anti-jam isn't all the way forward. We'll see how much of an issue it is when I get on the field next month.
