Ok, so I was thinking about turning my MR-1 into a speedball gun ---->
(full auto and the works), but I was looking around for parts to buy for it when I realized that I needed to get my priorities straight ... there were too many parts to buy and not e'nuff money Parts List (please rank them in order of importance) : HPA Tank E-Trigger New Bolt (and what kind) Regulator (and what the hell they are because i have no idea [they might even be useless]) Block of Aluminum (so i can make a sweet looking mag) Feedneck (probably CCM) Hopper/Loader (perhaps even Q-Loader if i have the money) New Mask Different Trigger for the E-grip (Magnetic return?) New Velocity Adjuster ______________________________ List of what I already have: J+J ceramic edge barrel kit (16") remote Line Polished Internals Stock MR-1 Co2 (don't flame me... its cheaper) Thanks In Advance! |

For the amount of money you're going to be tossing into this project you can get an Proto SLG which is a decent speedball gun to start with.
*Actually I just did a little research and this may be just a tad bit more expensive... Last edited by RSX99 : 04-10-2009 at 08:13 AM. |

Not to mention, I don't like the way the SLG looks ![]() Please just rank them and don't question my motives ... I can't put questionable home made mods on a gun that is worth over 100$ stock |

you already have one... so why did you put it on your list of things to get?
RSX99 wasn't questioning your motives, he was just trying to help. I would have to agree with him though because you are gonna end up with more money in upgrades than what you bought the gun for, and you'll end up with $300 in a $100 gun and at the end of the day, it's still a spyder. if you dont like the SLG buy a used mid-end speedball gun. I would first get HPA before you buy anything |

we're trying to save you money. in the long run, its better to save the money and buy a new gun after 2-4 months and get a gun and use the mr1 as backup. and the more you add to a gun, the more prone to malfunction it is.
if you dont like the slg, pick up an 09 electra or used mini or timmy for under $200. not to mention the mr1 is heavy as **** for a speedball gun... he meant save phace. theyre a cheap mask company that started making airbrushed masks and selling them for $70... now your setup: Quote:

I'll have to say that I very much agree with DFSniper, although on the bolt, I would use a stock one with the venturi removed and a polished striker. If going to the ACP bolt, then I'd use their striker too. Since you're going to HPA, save your money on the reg. HPA thanks already have one- just buy it with the high pressure output. With a spring kit, you'll be good to go.
So really, aside from the HPA tank and and your choice of masks, you really don't need anything IMO. I'm not really sure about your grip though... Is it already an e-grip, or are you wanting to get one? The only other change I'd make to it if you haven't already, would be to buy a barrel for it. By now everybody pretty much knows I'm a fan of Lapco barrels, but other good ones are CP and Palmer's (PPS)- My personal favorite. Since we're talking mods, if you really wanna get crazy with it, you can convert to low pressure. Then you'll want a reg. It will be easier on paint, innards, and probably a little more gas efficient.

Thanks a TON guys.
Jonathan James - sorry for the confusion... thought you thought that i didn't have a mask... ProX - I do not have an e-grip, i am looking into buying one and am also finding a good anti-chop bolt because my marker chops too much (over 2 a game) and i dont expect an e-grip to help much. DFSniper - The 'Block Of Aluminum' is pointless in every aspect of paintball, let alone speedball. I am going to grind it down unto a UMP style replica magazine because it LOOKS GOOD (imo) and the aluminum is the best weight/price ratio that i could find (and it is really easy w/ a dremmel). Thanks for the suggestions. |
