Default Shooting Issue

Hello, I have a slight problem when I fire my MR1. I can shoot around 7-8 balls repeatedly, and after that I get like half a fire, and I have to recock my gun. There is no leaks or anything and I keep my gun well maintained. Is it just that I can pull the trigger faster then my gun can respond? Or is it something else? And how can I fix this?

So I'm under the assumption that you are using HPA and not CO2 from your set-up?

It's most likely a problem with the striker o-ring.

Spyder's are blowback markers and recocks from incoming air from the valve everytime. If the seal on the Striker o-ring isn't a nice seal the marker will seize to recock. So first try to replace and lube that o-ring. Tell me what happens and we'll go from there.

Whatever air source your using if your shooting up around 8 bps the MR1 can't keep up and it will half cock and you'll just have to recock it and keep going. I'm sure with a little upgrading you could fix this but for now just shoot a little slower.

ahhh I see. The gun is not that old, so I doubt that the striker O-ring is damaged. I also completely disassemble, oil and lube my gun after each use. What could I do to correct this? I am debating the e-trigger. The e-trigger comes with a striker correct? Is there anyother triggers or strikers that you guys would recommend, because I cant really find an e-trigger for anything cheaper then 55 or 60 on ebay.

I truely doubt you need a NEW striker. Just replace the o-ring for it. It's a size 15 o-ring that you can universally almost find anywhere.

I doubt it's the air-source since you're using a 48ci3000k tank. What is the regulator set at to though. You will most likely have to set it at 600-700 PSI if it's stock.

Ahhh... I see. Ummm... I will go and buy an o-ring today and see how that goes. I don't think it is the o-ring because when I take the trigger off and look at the striker, it has scratches and it looks like it was heavily used. I've only fired about 3 or 4 thousand paintballs from it.

Check to see if you have any small burrs sticking up into the striker housing of the body. The pin that joins the bolt and the striker sometimes rubs the edge of the cocking pin pushing a small amount of the metal edge into the path of the striker. Symptoms of this would include failing to re-cock and scoring on the striker.

Use a CLEAN soft cloth and your finger to check for sharp edges around where the screw holes come through into the striker and velocity spring. If you find any fluff stuck to the edges of the body where the striker moves you may have a burr or damage to the inside of the body.

Sand or dirt may also have entered into the body and caused the scoring. Polish your striker if it has any raised edges or burrs. It should be smooth and resistance free when moving in the body. You can remove the trigger frame and slide it back and forth with no resistance.

Also check for scoring on your bolt as they move together as a unit and the bolt has more screw holes around it that may have pushed thread burrs into the path of the bolt.

Fixing this requires someone able to polish away or remove the burrs in your marker body to repair the damage.

Remember to never use any metal or hard object inside you marker body. I recommend wood or soft plastic (always clean) if you have to push anything past
where you fingers can reach.

Ahhh I see. I will check that when I get home. I know that I overtightened the trigger frame on once and I can see scratches from the bolt. Could that be the problem?

Also, for future reference, don't just push a little scrap of cloth down the casing with one of you allen wrenches - the allen wrench may slip and cause more damage to the marker by scoring the side of the casing. This happened to me, and I had to hit it with some 1200 grain sandpaper (took about 2 and a half hours).

What? I never clean my gun with an allen wrench with cloth on it. I disassemble it completely, whipe down everything by hand, and oil/lube everything back up as I reassemble.
