So lots of the old style pump markers were very similer, Hammer, Trracer, bushmaster ect.(nelson based pumps) So my question is are the internals on these markers interchangable? triggerframes ect?
Thanks in advance guys.

THAT is a truly excellent question. So much so, that I blew the cobwebs off a couple of nelson-based pumps to find out.
I started with: tippmann SL-68II NW Sales silver bullet II ACI maverick BE tigershark GRIP FRAME: none interchangeable. sl is a 1 pc casting, tiger uses pins, the mav and NW look similar but the screw placement is off. VALVE: sl out of running again. other 3 are almost identical save for outer dimensions and mounting styles which prohibit them from working. power tube from NW and mav will interchange. HAMMER: bolt hooks vary, with sl being odd man out again. hammers themselves (without hooks) were fully interchangeable between models, despite some difference in power tube diameter. BOLT: very similar, with differences in overall length and pump handle mounting. outer diameter variance negligible. mav and tiger will interchange. sl and NW would also interchange if machined for pump handle bolts. this was done using reballs but no gas. i didnt feel that actual test firing would prove anything more useful than simple function testing. besides, i was babysitting at the time, and small kids go gorilla nuts when you start shooting in the house. |
