VS2 battery problem

I have a new VS2 and for some reason the factory batter will not hold its charge. I charged it as recommended. So anyways I get about 200-300 shots from it fully charged. Is this a common issue, a bad battery, should I buy an aftermarket..or is there a trick I dont know about.
