Default My God, it's a BEAUTIFUL thing!!!

::sniff sniff:: My new HAND SEWN Family Tartan bu none other than:

Barbara Tewksbury
Kiltmaker
Deansboro, NY.

Email address available for those interested in a professionally made, hand sewn Kilt.

It has taken quite some time to save up for this Kilt. Not only do I have this 16oz masterpiece, but I also commissioned her to make 5 Ladies' sashes for my Family. The Wife and 3 daughters each get one (with one spare) and I made Kilt/Sash pins from Whitetail antler sheds.

Box pleats were requested as opposed to knife pleats. This uses less material in the garment making it slightly less expensive and definitely lighter. It also happens to be more historically accurate as Kilts go.

The Ladies' sashes are 10oz wool. The difference in color is only slight, as the green has a bit of a lighter tinge to it but they match VERY well for being loomed differently and of different dye lots.

I love this Kilt and they love their sashes.

Onto the pics:

If you are going to be condescending, at least learn the English language so we all can understand the insults....

Actually, my Family means more to me than life itself and they KNOW it. So to answer the only question I could understand...NO...they AREN'T embarrassed about their heritage and culture.....

If you don't mind, roughly how much did it run you? There's probaby some Scottish/Irish in my heritage somewhere. I just think it'd be cool to have one.

Also Nastystankweed is from Guatemala, so I doubt he's had many encounters with kilts. Nor would he have much of a clue to the cultural significance.

As usual, it looks great, man!
