Another project down.

Well, I promised myself that I would never upgrade my ION, back when I got it with the following upgrades, for $100:

• Max'd ION body
• SP Clamping Feedneck
• 360 QEV
• NDZ Blade Aluminum Roller Trigger
• SP Freak barrel w/.689 insert
• AA tip
• SP On/Off ASA
• SP S-Rail
• Regular ION body

I figured it would be used as a backup gun or for friends. Well, it sat around for a while and I got bored with it. I wanted another project after I finished my Cocker... so I figured I'd try something.

At this time GC bodies became available and perked my interest. From there, well... I got carried away.

I ended up selling all the parts from the $100 ION for $226, making $126 more then I spent on it. I used this $226 to build this ION.

The gun is completely aftermarket aside form the board.

Specs:

• GC 5.1 Clone Body
• NDZ Scorpion Frame
• Hyper 2 Regulator
• XSV On/Off ASA (Basically a lighter CP On/ Off Clone)
• AC Freak Back w/.689 SS Insert
• AA Tip
• Blue Matrix Eyes
• TechT L7v2 Bolt
• Stock Board

The ASA goes for $20 brand new on PBNation! It's a great pickup if you don't want to spend the money on a CP and want an equivalent.

I almost like it better then my CP.

Bad video... I had to turn the eyes off because of my chewed up left detent. I don't know what's going on, but I'll get a ball stuck on it and it's infront of the eye, so the gun won't feed another ball and it won't fire. It sucks... so until I can get a replacement, I have to keep the eyes off when firing fast. Hence the couple chops I got with the swelling old paint. I figured out that after I made the video and went through the hopper of paint, my batteries were low on my hopper too. (Haven't changed them in forever and forgot since I don't play semi much anymore )

Overall, I'm happy with it. Just got to get the minor things adjusted. Also, got to get my Dark Seoul grips. I'll put more pics up when I get them.

Canon EOS 20D DSLR. These were taken with a wide angle lens.

Yeah, the grips will change shortly. I'm getting my custom Dark Seoul grips. He's already got them made... problem is, my captain has no money in his PP and I don't have an account that works. So until I can get him the money, I'm SOL.

I made a template/design of my own and I was going to send it in to stinger paintball designs. Do you recommend dark seoul's work?

Yes he does. In fact, SPD stole his designs. He used to do the grips for them.

He charges $35 for custom grips and includes the screws for them. SPD charges $40 with screws.
