I am new to paintball markers, so please pardon the simplicity of this question. On the MR1, there is a bolt called "MR1 Venturi Bolt" (it is #279 listed on the parts manual http://www.spyder.tv/section/support/manuals/mr1.pdf ). This bolt has an indentation on it, kind of like a pie chart cut out. When putting this bolt back into the gun, does it matter which way the indentation is facing when it is put back in (and the gun is facing the way it would if you were shooting it). Should it be facing down? Thank you, Glen Last edited by glenlevy : 06-26-2008 at 09:37 AM. |

If you are talking about that indentation on the side, the line partially going down a side, than it should be facing in the direction the gun shoots in the lower-right corner with one hole facing up on the bolt.

I am guessing you are talking about the indentation for the ball detent. When you are putting the bolt back into the marker, that indentation needs to be on the same side that the hopper attaches to the marker. That indentation allows the bolt to slide past the ball detent with out chopping it off. The ball detent is a little black peace of rubber that stops the balls from rolling out the barrel and double feeding. If you are looking down at the bolt, you should only see one hole when putting it back in to the marker, if you see two holes, it is upside down and the marker will not fire and you may chop your ball detent. So basically when I put my marker back together, and brought it to the range, and started shooting off some Paint balls, using that machine they have there there, the balls were averaging around 309 fps, that means that, the piece is in correctly, right?
Again i took the gun apart once, and put it back together so I just want to make sure it is 100% correctly put back together. OH, and out of about 1000 paint balls I did not chop a single one. Thank You in advance, Glen |

What you need to do is lower your velocity by screwing the read velocity adjuster counter clockwise. The velocity adjuster is at the back of the marker, below the hole when you put the bolt in. You can use the Allen keys that came with the marker to turn that counter clockwise to lower or clockwise to heighten the velocity. Most fields use 280fps (feet per second), I find my MR1 performs the best at 275fps If you can't get your velocity any lower using the velocity adjuster, you need a spring kit. Adam |

When I first took my MR1 to the chrono range, I couldnt get it below 320fps. I had to take out the spring, compress it for a few minutes then let the CO2 re-cycle through. And even then, I was averaging 300FPS. I dont know how to get it any lower.

Use a weaker spring or get a regulator and lower the pressure.

With the MR 1 a spring kit is a must as I hve never seen an MR1 that shot less then 300FPS out of the box, so clip the spring or geta spring kit.

Get a 32 degrees spring kit. Personally, I couldn't get it above 170fps, but that's been fixed.
