Has anyone tried something like a paintball UAV? If not, what's your opinion on how effective it would and could be in a scenario game? I guess it could be something as simple as a R/C airplane or helicopter with a light camera taped on the bottom for all I care, but has anyone tried one? In order for this to work, you would need to view what the camera is viewing, so I was wondering if thats possible.

To do it, it'd cost a pretty penny... If it got shot down, it'd be expensive to replace....
To be honest, you're better off relying on a "sniper" like myself to flank and radio you back coordinates. It's usually what I do scenarios anyway.

yeah I've been checking places for wireless video transmitters and recievers, and the lowest is around $150, which is money I COULD use to pay in order to play paintball.... but it was a cool idea. The trick is once you have all the gear, who would want to sit in a room and watch video and point out where guys are to your teammates...

RC plane plus wireless mini cam. the cam would probably be the most expensive thing! then get a handheld screen to watch it all!

If you used a big enough r/c (gas-powered maybe?) you could attach nerf bombs.

We have actually looked into this, in order to have a helicopter with enough lift to cary a single 3oz water bomb and a small wirless camera you have to spend alot on the helicopter. I beleive it was something like 2000 to get one with enough lift and then you had to have a 4 point attachment or the weight shifting around wouldnt allow it to fly. the minicam wasnt a big deal however but again you are facing balancing issues and would take a bit of trial and error to get it right.
As for the plane they have specialy designed RC planes that are ment for paintball we used one at our scenario feild once, the idea was the plan flew around and whatever team shoot it got controle of the heli-port once a team had posession of it they could utalize aircraft. At least until the other team shoot the plane again. Personaly I feel that the Unnmanned land vehicals are better. You can buy the tanks on ebay for 600. they shoot 6mm paint pelets and are about 3 feet in size. Im sure you would have no problem attaching a multitude of cameras to this as well.
