Exclamation MR1 Scope/Sight Rail Upgrade?

Is anyone else having trouble finding a scope sight for their MR1?
For me, I've been looking all over the net trying to find a red-dot sight that is short enough (apprx. 6.5-7.0cm) to be mounted on the MR1.

Unfortunately, the top cocking bolt is in the way of the rest of the length of the sight rail... and any further up, you'd run into the feed neck.

On top of that... I've been also having trouble finding an affordable red-dot sight (or raised rails) that mount on 7/8" dovetail rail (what I think that is). Anyone have any solutions? Find any offsets er anythin'?

take the screw out of the elbow and turn it around where it faces the other way. I ran a laser on mine the first week end but honestly all it does is look cool

hmm.. that makes a little more rooom, but still isn't very good... most red-dot scopes are AT EAST 9 cm long....

i still can't fine a [raised] sight rail for this.

Any of the Weaver based or Picatinny based scopes will work. I will probably use a BSA 40MM Red Dot. The problem is the stock design will not let you get your head behind the scope if you have a mask on. I am working on modifying my stock by cutting out the top rail. I have not decided fully how I want to do it yet though.

with paintball you really cant use a red dot or a scope because of the somany variables of a paintball.

That's not 100% true. The crazy low-velocity ballistics of spherical paintballs fired through non-rifled barrels certainly make sights like red dot sights less effective on markers than on firearms, but you can still dial your sight in for better accuracy at a specific range.

If you have most of your engagements at a range of, say, 35 yards, you can set your velocity and then shoot a target 35 yards away to dial in your sight's elevation (and windage). Sure, if you have a firefight a little closer or a little further away your sight is going to be a little off, but I think it's still more effective than having no sight at all and just taking snapshots.

That said, I like taking snapshots...
