Default Zombie Survival Training Camp

(or, A Day at the Range)

went to the range with my family today (except my sister, she was being lame and stayed home) to shoot my dad's custom AR-15. so, here's a few pics.

the gun:

me shooting:

my dad shooting with the flip-up sights:

the targets (my dad got a whole bunch of these from a friend some years ago, so we decided to put them to some use):

for some reason, after my dad zeroed in, everyone else's shots were high...

we went through 5 or 6 magazines, and that gun is amazing, almost zero kick. even my 10 year old brother shot it like it was nothing!

You are shooting it when it's resting on a surface. Try standing or crouching and tell me there is no kick.

They're good guns. How is this zombie survival though? lol

Very nice varmit assault weapon ;D
AR-15/M-16's have minimal kick compared to their predecessor (M-14), That baby had some punch to her, of course it shoots a 7.62 vs. 5.56 round of the AR-15/M-16. I love the AR frame, you can customize to your hearts content.

ok, let me rephrase that. theres almost no kick when compared to shotguns, rifles, etc. and the only thing the sandbags really do is steady your aim,all the recoil goes straight back. i shot competition in high school, so i know the ins and outs of marksmanship training.

ever since reading the Ultimate Zombie Survival Guide, my dad's gone on a quasi "zombie attack prevention" spree. but he's been wanting to build an AR for a while now. so to justify the headshots, we pretended the targets were zombies.

That first target kind of freaks me out that he's smiling with a gun in his hand.
