That's due to user error. People were putting in floormats on top of the factory ones and the gas pedal would get stuck under them. I'm pretty sure it happened to ford too. People are just retarded and their intellect isn't getting any better.

Why would Toyota recall over a million cars and lose as much money as they did because the owner of the car purchased a second set of floor mats and placed them on top of the factory floor mats? Then redesign their gas pedal?

i have to agree with ted, its user error because people are getting dumber faster than cars can learn to drive themselves...

on an unrelated topic, im finding better deals on silverados than f150s on craigslist lately, so thats starting to sway my opinion on trucks...

I didn't say that people aren't dumb, but over a million people did not have 2 sets of floor mats in their cars which could cause their gas pedal to stick. Toyota admitted that THIER floor mats, and THIER floor mats alone could cause a problem, which is why they issued a recall. I was just saying that Toyota would have never issued a recall to fix the sticking pedals if the only way it could have happened was by stacking floor mats on top of each other.
