I think so long as the oring is there it should be alright. The oring is what keeps the air from seeping out

No, don't loctite the top bonnet!!! Just screw it back on after lubing everything with paintball oil, and screw the set screws on the side in. I'd personally put some DOW55 on the oring before I screw it in next time. I'll see if I can find the manual for your tank, I remember having it when I used to own a PE, but I don't remember where I put it.
Edit: Here it is: http://www.paintballsolutions.com/05..._regulator.pdf

"lubricate both piston “O” rings using Air Tool Oil." Straight from the manual. Paintball oil and air tool oil are practically the same stuff. As long as those are the only orings that you oil, I don't see why it would affect it. That's on the 850psi side of the regulator, not the 4500psi. The fill nipple is what you have to worry about. I always put a smidgen of DOW55 on my fill nipples when I first install them, and have NEVER had an issue with it sticking, leaking, etc. And it hasn't blown up on me as DOW55 is made of different stuff than paintball oil.
It MIGHT fit, but you'd have to stretch it to fit if it will... I'd recommend looking for a pure Neoprene cover that'll definitely stretch to fit.

The only access to the 4500psi side of the tank on that model regulator is via the fill nipple, burst disk, and the threads inside the tank.
He could put a whole bottle of oil on that part and it wouldn't do a damn thing 'cept get oil everywhere.![]()
