my halo b eyes dont seem to be working
i dont know if its the board or the eyes

unpinch them, then make sure that there are no bare wires. you may need some electric tape or a solder gun or both.

what are the eyes actually supposed to look like
i have one thats clear and the other is darkish
i also saw that the electrical tape had melted around the dark eye

Did you by chance install the connector on the board for the eyes upside down? The Clear eye is the transmitter eye and the dark eye is the receiver. The receiver is a form of photo-diode that is powered by light (be it infrared or other source (Lazer)), sounds like that is what happened and the receiver eye is burnt out. Replace your eyes and you should be good to go. If not then the problem is with your board.

it was just a matter of taking it apart and cleaning it
