I got the Trinity sick body for my VS2 so I decided to mod my old frame....just for $#!+$ and giggles. I was going to send it in to get halfbacked, but I read about doing it yourself with a dremmel. It just so happens that my brother has a dremmel lying in his closet. I started cutting, making sure that I left at least 1/4" so that the rear o-ring of the bolt remains covered in the cocked position. Is there anything else that I need to know about halfbacking my body?

Here's an update on the halfback project I've been doing. I'm using a dremmel for the entire project (cutting, grinding & buffing), which explains why it has been taking me a bit longer than I expected....but I think that it's turning out pretty good. I have completed all of the major cuts, so now I am just rounding off the edges to make the profile a bit cleaner. What do you guys think...keep in mind, this is the first time that I have ever tried anything like this Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I'm glad you guys like it as much as I do. OneUp (from PBNation) suggested that I add this mod to the body. It's a bit complicated, but I think that I can pull it off. I plan to get it ano-ed when I'm finished....probably black/red acid finish. Anyone have any other suggestions? I'm open to anything

i want to do something like this to my gun. what things do i need to worry about
it doesn't matter what kind of gun it is, does it, just in case i will try it on a spyder imagine, or a rodeo. are o-rings the only thing i need to worry about? I mean to make sure that no o-rings are exposed when the bolt is cocked? |

OtterSC gives two paws up!
excellent job! all i would suggest, but am sure you do know, do a light bevel on the inside so that your cuts do not shew up your plastic bolt. other than that, keep going.

That is one hell of a nice job you did there. That's nice enough that I don't know if I would even anno it, just polish it a little bit and call it good.
