If you have a HPA (nitrogen tank) all you need to do is screw it into the marker and start using it. A reg is part of the tank.

jackel...the only reason you NEED to get a secondary reg is if you want to make it LP...that is not to say that you couldn't use one and lower the pressure a little without actually going LP...but like big daddy d said...fill the tank, attach it and play..

No a high pressure tank output is around 800 PSI which is the operating pressure of a stock spyder marker... A secondary reg and some modding can bring this pressure down to about half that if not more see weblink that follows for more info http://www.ottersccustoms.com/lp.html

Ok, a regulator on your gun does a couple of things. First, as mentioned before, it lowers the pressure coming into your gun. The second reason is to actually "regulate" the air your gun uses to fire each shot - each shot is consistantly the same, so you should be able fire accurate shots time after time...

There is NO harm double reg'ing your gun.

Totally up to you. Just know that your gun was actually DESIGNED to run at 800 psi, so there are some problems that could come up when you attempt low pressure modifications...it takes time and effort to get it that way. You can check the whole process out on Otter's site...

yep this link and this link should help you out greatly on how to make your gun LP and why you should. It's totally up to you, and if you want a project to work on, or have a lot of time on your hands, and you are willing to put a lot of work on this gun then i guess this is the way to go
