Hey all. Im new to paintballing and really love it(and aint half bad!). So more to the point. I have the spyder pilot acs 05' with normal c02 and the 12 volt revy. I was playing on saturday and realized it could shoot straight for its life! I need a new barrel for 30$(im a cheap skate). Does anybody have any suggestions for a new barrel? Please include link to site. Thanks!

I was thinking about a j&j ceriamic or a smart parts tear drop 12 to 14 inches. I heard that the j&j breaks alot of paint due to the small bore size(says it cleans it self), is this true?
Here is the link http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/...kAAAD3RCelA_2t And for the Teardrop http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/...4AAAD3kyylA_2t Are there better barrels(30 bucks or under LOL)? Last edited by Rastaskater : 02-12-2006 at 09:31 PM. |

smart parts progressive and teardrop = about the same thing and are equally good for the price

Personally I love my J&J. It shoots great on my 05ACS. If I use crappy paint, the least expensive from the field, I break, but honestly it seems to break more in the gun than in the barrel. If I ever get some paint in the barrel, 1-2 shots of air cleans it up beautifully, i rarely squeegie in the game. Once or twice I've gone back after the game to my table and ran a pull through to find a buncha paint, but I couldnt' remember being upset at the accuracy. My favorite economy paint to use so far is Diablo Heat. I can get it for $43 a case or $38 if i buy 5 AT the field! According to PBnation, that's about .688-.689 and a J&J .688-.691.
And the best part is you can get it for $30 at AV. Lots of bore sizes of paint and a few barrels at PBnation

i'd probably get the teardrop because of it's bigger bore. It would let more paint be able to go through with no problem

J&J's are good...had 3 in my lifetime. You need to use .687-.685 bored paint though. Scorch runs decent through it but not marbs or um...forget the name of the blue ball...

If you look at Otter's site the J&J Ceramic is .688-.691 and the Teardrop is .688. My son has the SP Teardrop and I have the J&J. I like the J&J much better. I haven't found a paint that it can't shoot well. Even cheapo' Brass Eagle. The Teardrop seams finicky about paint size. In the looks department, Smartparts Teardrop all the way. Accuracy, J&J all the way.
