number one rule of scratching paint off... use something softer than the metal! stainless steal vs aluminum... erka derk of course it will scratch... wooden stick... might not work as well, but it wont scratch aluminum unless you are insanely strong.

I used drano. took everything right off. just exposed some nastyness underneat.

some one mentioned the metal eye cover. can any one tell me where i can get those from? and dipping it in a paint thinner bath. wouldn't that completelly destroy the smooth coating inside the champer?

the inside isnt exactly smoothed out, and it wont really matter since Kingman has low tolerances. when they paint over it, it goes over straight, so if theres a crack, it wont fill the crack. the layer of paint will have the same thickness all the way around, they dont double up paint to fill uneven areas, as far as i know. did any of that make sense?
as for eye covers, im pretty sure www.paintballgateway.com sells em.
