1. the Torque has no battery door. The battery(s) are installed internally and it's very fast and simple to do. You can install the battery on the torque faster than you can take the screws out of the battery door of the other loaders.
2. The Torque has a unique shaped lid. 3. The Torque has no screws to remove for disassembly and cleaning. 4. All the gears in the gear drive system are built into the motor assembly. 5. The Torque has a completely different/unique 3D shape than the "others". 6. The Torque is significantly lighter than the Halo B and Pulse... Empty weight: 1.01 lbs. w/ 1- 9 volt: 1.08 lbs. w/2- 9 volts: 1.16 lbs. no screws? I'm now officially aroused |

Sure, it has no screws.. And it's super easy to take apart and fast, but then that might just mean it is also super easy to fall apart in a game from a bad dive. Alongside that, I'm not a huge fan of it's looks, it' doesn't look like there was much thought put into it. Except maybe it's supposed to "deflect" paint like the Ricochets were supposed to, but the entire bottom of the front half is empty space other than the batteries. And then there is the thing about how the shells can be taken apart easily, to gain access to the battery. This also means that you have to empty it out in order to get to the battery. Right now, the Magna seems to have better options than this... As it also has a battery door that requires no screws. "All the gears in the gear drive system are built into the Motor assembly" - So it's a servo...? Unless they've redesigned the motor all together, the gear box is always going to be external to the motor. How large the gear box is a different story. The VLocity has a small gear box that fits around the motor, and the Eggs and Revolutions all had Servos with the motor inside the box with the gear box on the top half. If anything it's not that great of an advantage. The Belt drive is something that they should incorporate, not the gear drive, as gears have a tendency to strip, while the belt drive simply can't strip (although it still has gears, since the belt is more likely to slip than the gears, the gears simply don't strip and the belt just slips). Gear boxes all have problems with stripping, I have experienced this with motors as slow as those in a 9v Revolution, and as fast as a VLocity, and they all have an inherent problem of stripping. Unless this company decided to go with big aluminium gears, I don't imagine it would be any better. IMO the Belt in a Halo B/Reloader/Pulse is essentially a failsafe.

have any more info on the mag frame? i'm definitely stoked about something new for the mag, but i wanna how it works. lol i know it makes it a pneumag, but what about routing hoses and stuff? that's what i'm confused about, cuz i don't see any. it says optional internal lpr, but what about external? will i have to use that ridiculous ASA?
i guess i should probably watch the videos... |
