Those are display models. The real production ones at at the plant in San Diego, which is surrounded by wild fires. There is no estimated release date as they don't know when they will be returning to the plant. There are none for sale at Cup, and I don't know if any teams will be using it. They said all production models are at the plant, so its possible even Ollie Lang doesn't have one yet.

sorry... Looks like oscum is right this time... http://www.dyeprecision.com/DM8/specs.html spec sheet specifically says "no eye plates" The DM8 features an all new internal patent-pending Eye Pipe anti-chop sensing system that is self cleaning, providing trouble free high rate of fire. Also, the ball detents have been upgraded to a new magnetic system that is softer on paint. This new design has allowed us to eliminate the need for eyeplates.

Everything I said was from a Dye press release.

from your comment it looked like you were trying to say that the display models didn't have eye covers but the final ones would. If you didn't mean that, then I'm sure whoever said it explicitly up the page did. The production model will not have eye covers... thats all I'm trying to say.

That's exactly what I was saying, which is exactly what came from Dye, before they put up the website with specs.
