MR-1 pump??

I was thinking about how to mad my mr-1 into a pump. i heard that you have to half-back it, mod the striker, and get a pump kit. does anyone have easy-to-follow steps on how to do this. i also need a list of tools and what pump kit(s) that will work. thanks!

Turning any Spyder into a pump has the same basic steps. IIRC the stock goes into the upper tube so you would have to cut a slot in it or hook the cocking rod to the pin.

Disconnect the bolt & striker but leave it where the bolt to where it will still recock the striker.

Mod the valve or get one made for non blowback.

You cant do the conversion without a fiber cut off disk its the only thing that will cut the striker, drills just mar the finish.

actually a dremel with the metal cutoff wheels works GREAT (the fiber wheels i think they are anyways)

Best way to pump a Spyder..... Get a Hammer

For real, other than the fun of modding get a Hammer that is a pump Spyder to begin with.

how much are they and where is a good place to get one? i was looking into a Phantom, but they are SUPER expensive. can anyone compare a phantom and the Hammer on a pros and cons list for me?

I use a Trracer pump as a backup if something should happen to my MR2, unfortinatly they dont make them anymore but if you could find one get it! these guns are prettywell undestructible. I really like it anyway. You dont need to get a phantom they are great guns but like you said way up there, there are alot of lower end pumps that you can get and have alot of fun with. Im not sure about the hammer though cant help you there.
